About Jerry Murray
As the CFO of a major Michigan company for the past twelve years, I have the experience and education required to bring the office of Mackinac County Treasurer back to the people and out of controversy. After all, it's your dollars the Treasurer is responsible for and the citizens of Mackinac County deserve a change in how these funds have been handled.
A 4th generation Democratic resident of Mackinac County, I give my word to the citizens that I will restore the credibility and efficiency of the Office of County Treasurer. With this said, it would be my honor to have your vote for me on August 5th.
Personal:
Wife: Reinette Powers Murray
Sons: Shaun and Walter (Jerry) Murray III
Reinette and I built our permanent home in St. Ignace years ago after spending many summers and winter weekends with family at Mackinac Island and St. Ignace.
We were waiting for the right opportunity to be able to move back here full time and become involved in our Mackinac County community. I am proud to say that my family has a long history of public service in the Straits area.
My great-grandfather, Dominick Murray, served as Mackinac County Sheriff for 20 years, from 1858-1870. Judge David Murray, my grandfather, served as Mackinac County Probate Judge for over 45 years from 1908-1953. I would like to have the opportunity to give back to my community and to continue my family's long tradition of public service. I would be honored to serve as your county treasurer.
Sincerely,
Jerry Murray
